It's no surprise...I love food. I especially love ethnic food and I LOVE finding a restaurant that is consistently good like La Chareada in Bloomington. Their cheese enchiladas are the best around...i absolutely love their ranchero sauce.
The girls and I all went out to lunch there today and it was really fun. The food was good, the chips were fresh and the whole meal came and went in about 30 minutes. the place is fast, the food is great, and the price is reasonable.
Today I am totally grateful for La Chareada.

Oranges
So, last fall and winter, I had a serious love affair with apples. I even had a post about my top apple choices and why I liked them.
This year, my one true love is seedless citrus. I started out with Cutie brand Clementines and slowly made my way toward tangelos, both organic and Sunkist brand. I love them. They are the perfect snack. Sweet and delicious, satisfying, quiet and they smell great. Plus, it's a nice pick-me-up when I am feeling tired or bored at work.
So today especially, after having a particularly boring and flavorless lunch, I am VERY gratefull for oranges and orange-type fruits.

Not having to cook
Ok, so if you know me at all, you know that my husband does the cooking. Pretty much all of it. I bake and that's it, everything else is done by James...and he is beginning to cross the line into baking country with his now famous home made bread.
This is something that I used to really resent. No man has ever had anything bad to say about my cooking EVER! In fact, I used to think that I was a really good cook. Whatevz. This just in: I am a way bad cook. Or, maybe an average Hoosier cook, but definitely nowhere near as good as James. I couple of years ago after trying to cook something and completely freaking out when James found a bunch of stuff wrong with it, I gave up. Not to mention the time I tried to boil a chicken, the time I used a food processor to chop onions for a meatloaf, or the time I put 1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper into our szechuan broccoli. I don't really like cooking, I definitely don't like being critiqued or judged on it, and I can think of a million more things I would rather be doing than slaving over a hot stove. Anything that I might even consider trying to make, would be twice as good and take half the time if James makes it. So there is no point in even trying.
So, after battling with the feelings of feminine inadiquacy for the first few years of our marriage, I have come to realize that the fact that James makes dinner every night is something that I am grateful for. I have time to play with and walk the dogs, keep up on other chores, and actually relax a little bit after work. If I also had to cook, there would be no way I would ever get any rest.
So today i am grateful for the wonderful dinners created by my wonderful husband.

Sad start
So, yeah...3 days into this new post to it every day blog and I have already missed tow days. Harumph!
Today, I am grateful for oranges. I have been eating an orange or two a day for the past several weeks and I love it. Next to bananas, they are one of the best fresh fruit snacks to have at work. No crunching, some varieties don't have seeds, and they smell great. And its a really nice treat when you just need to leave the computer for a minute and relax and enjoy some deliciousness. Thanks oranges!
